On Saturday 2nd December 2023, we were honoured to be joined by seven young people from Ukrainian Action in Ireland; a charity established in response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine to foster Irish-Ukrainian friendship. They took part in Gaisce’s Wavelength programme, aimed at ensuring that young people seeking asylum or refugee status in Ireland can participate in Gaisce.:  Pavlo, Polina, Khristina, Damir, Oleksands and Emma were presented with their Bronze Award and Vlad with his Silver Award at an Award Ceremony held in the Gaisce headquarters at Ratra House in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.   The ceremony was hosted

Gaisce – The President’s Award is delighted to announce new appointments to the Leadership Team of the organisation. Karol Quinn - Head of Programme and Strategic Development Karol Quinn has been promoted to Head of Programme and Strategic Development at Gaisce, having previously held the position of Learning and Evaluation Programme Manager at the organisation. Karol takes on the role with over 20 years of working in the Youth Sector. In celebration of the launch of the Irish Girl Guides new headquarters, Gaisce's CEO Avril Ryan and Gaisce Council Member Jenny Gannon attended the event as honoured guests! Helen Concannon presented them with a unique badge for their dedication and continued support. Gaisce collaborates with Irish Girl Guides through our Dual Award Programme, offering Senior Branch Irish Girl Guides the opportunity to earn their Gaisce Award while they complete Irish Girl Guide challenges and activities! Gaisce – The President’s Award is celebrating Lá Gaisce with our Challenge Partner parkrun this October bank holiday weekend (Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October) with a special Gaisce parkrun Challenge Weekend. We’re encouraging any Gaisce participant who is volunteering at parkrun as part of their Community Involvement challenge, or anyone who is participating in parkrun as part of their Physical Recreation challenge, to go out to your local parkrun to celebrate Lá Gaisce.  Many of our Gaisce participants are using parkrun events as one of their Challenge activities and have been participating in parkrun’s #VolunteerWalkConnect initiative.
