Inspiration, resolve, and perseverance. Three words that perfectly sum up Ciarán Sear's Gaisce journey.
This week, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the premiere of the short film, Ciarán Sears: A PAL's Voice, in Tralee. Kerry Education and Training Board's (Kerry ETB) Local Creative Youth Partnership developed the project in partnership with Inspired Day Service, giving Ciarán and other Gaisce participants an opportunity to tell their stories.
A Gaisce Bronze, Silver, and Gold Gaisce Awardee, Ciarán has decided to continue his Gaisce journey past these awards and become a PAL. Through his work, he supports other young people pursuing their Gaisce Award, paying forward the benefits and encouragement he received throughout his time with the programme.
Alongside showcasing Ciarán's fantastic work, this short film explores the impact Gaisce can have on young people at every stage of the award, told through the lens of Kerry participants. From building confidence and fostering self-belief to championing young people to follow their dreams and try their best, the Gaisce Award has been monumental in helping young people realise their potential.
We are so proud of Ciarán and how he has embodied what Gaisce is all about: self-belief, growth, and connectivity, and cannot wait to see where his journey will take him next. Sincerest thanks to all involved in this short film, from participants to the production crew. It is wonderful to see Gaisce stories come to life in such an inspiring way!
'Ciarán – A Pal's Voice' will be submitted to the Fresh Film Festival in January 2027 and will be available on YouTube on the @kerrylcyp platform in March 2027. Keep an eye out for when this goes live!
