Gaisce Welcomes Sophie Bell and Nicole Kelly to the Gaisce Comms Team!

Prior to joining Gaisce, Sophie worked as a civil servant / QC medicine analyst, and in media. When she is not working on exciting projects in Gaisce, Sophie can be found working on her family farm in Cavan and sharing her journey across her ever-growing social media channels. 

Sophie graduated in 2021 with a BSc Hons in Agriculture with Animal Science from Harper Adams University, Shropshire. Sophie completed her studies in 2025, graduating with an MSc 1:1 in Agricultural Extension and Innovation, alongside a published thesis in UCD.  

From Cavan, Sophie is extremely passionate about agriculture, generational renewal, regenerative agriculture, public speaking, advocacy, young farmers, her Gaisce Journey, EU, Ireland, the power of storytelling, communications, social media, creativity, and much, much more. 

Excitingly, Sophie is also a Gaisce alumnus, achieving her Gaisce Gold Award in 2024, presented to her by the former President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins!

Prior to joining Gaisce, Nicole worked in publicjobs as a Marketing & Communications Executive and was involved in areas such as events, social media, internal and external communications, and website management. 

Nicole is a DCU alumnus, graduating with a BA in Communications Studies in 2021. She decided to continue her studies after this and completed her MA in Political Communication in 2022. She also received her Certificate in Professional Irish from Gaelchultúr in 2025. 

Nicole is from Dublin and passionate about social media, communications, language learning, personal development, global citizenship, international relations, youth empowerment, and politics. 

Like Sophie, Nicole is also a Gaisce alumnus, achieving her Gaisce Silver Award in 2017. With the support of her PAL and the Gaisce team, she is now pursuing her Gaisce Gold Award!
