In collaboration with The Shona Project and Gaisce- The President’s Award, this 13-week campaign is your chance to step up, lead, and spread serious positivity. You’ll be designing eye-catching posters, running a school-wide kindness challenge, and taking action to make your school a more inclusive and supportive place. It’s all about using your creativity and leadership skills to bring people together, promote kindness, and tackle bullying. Plus, it’s a fun and impactful way to earn your Gaisce Award while leaving a lasting mark on your school community. Let’s do this!


✨ 13-Week School Kindness Campaign: “Kindness Revolution ✨

Objective: To raise awareness about bullying, promote a positive and inclusive school environment, and encourage acts of kindness through creative poster designs and a school-wide kindness challenge.

Target Audience: All students and staff.

Duration: 13 weeks

Outline: The kindness poster campaign will highlight the need for kindness in school alongside a ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ challenge.

Campaign Timeline & Steps


Weeks 1-2: Squad Assembly & Planning 

Form the Committee: Assemble a team of dedicated students and assign roles:

Team Leader: Oversees the campaign’s progress and coordination. Creative Director: Leads the poster design efforts.

Content Creators: Develop slogans and messaging.

Logistics Coordinator: Manages details like materials and deadlines.

Outreach Coordinator: Spreads awareness and engages the school community.

Define Focus Areas: Decide on key themes for the poster campaign—e.g., bullying awareness, promoting kindness, and addressing microaggressions.

Seek Permission: Present a proposal to school management for approval, including plans for the poster campaign and kindness challenge.


Week 3: Teacher Collaboration & Resource Planning 

Teacher Meetings: Discuss the campaign with teachers.

Design Resources: Ensure access to tools for poster creation

Printing Logistics & Display Locations: Finalize where and how posters will be printed and displayed.

Kindness Challenge: Brief teachers on the kindness challenge format.

Plan Promotion: Coordinate with the staff member in charge of social media to discuss campaign promotion strategies.


Week 4: Shona Project Junior Ambassador Meetings

Jambos: Participants who are Junior Ambassadors join their meeting during this week for one hour.

Campaign Continuation: Other committee members can finalise the kindness workshop brief for teachers and prepare for the poster design phase.


Week 5: Poster Design & Finalization  

Design Phase: Begin and finalise poster designs, focusing on bold visuals and clear, impactful messaging.

Approval Process: Present designs to teachers for feedback and approval.

Finalise Printing Details: Confirm the number of posters and the printing budget.


Week 6: Kindness Challenge Preparation

Kindness Challenge Board: Set up a physical or digital board for students to post their acts of kindness.

Promotion Plan: Develop and execute a promotion plan for the kindness challenge using assemblies, class visits, and social media.

Workshop Brief Finalization: Finalize the brief or video for teachers to use in the 30-minute kindness sessions.

Incentivize Participation: Organize a prize for the best act of kindness.


Week 7: Campaign Kickoff Preparation

Final Preparations: Ensure everything is ready for the campaign launch, including posters, the Kindness Challenge Board, and promotional materials.

Teacher Briefing: Provide final instructions to teachers for the 30-minute kindness sessions.


Week 8: Shona Project Junior Ambassador Meetings

Jambos: Participants who are Junior Ambassadors join their meeting during this week for one hour.

Campaign Continuation: Other members can work on the last-minute details for the kindness challenge launch and ensure all materials are ready.


Week 9: Campaign Kickoff & Kindness Challenge Launch 

Campaign Kickoff Event: Launch the campaign with a school-wide event:

Poster Reveal: Display posters throughout the school.

Kindness Challenge Introduction: Announce the kindness challenge and explain participation.

Kindness Sessions: Teachers conduct the 30-minute session in their classrooms, guiding students to brainstorm and commit to their acts of kindness.


Weeks 10-11: Challenge Execution & Engagement 

Kindness Challenge Week: Students complete their kindness tasks and post them on the Kindness Challenge Board or share them on social media.

Ongoing Engagement: Promote the challenge through classroom visits, announcements, and social media.


Week 12: Reflection & Debrief

Debrief Session: Hold a meeting to discuss the campaign’s successes and areas for improvement.

Review & Recognize: Begin reviewing the acts of kindness submitted and preparing to announce the winners.


Week 13: Public Recognition & Sustainability Planning

Winners Announcement: Announce the kindness challenge winners and celebrate all participants.

Sustainability Planning: Discuss how to maintain the momentum and establish the campaign as an annual or ongoing initiative within the school.
