Our CEO, Avril Ryan, returned to @lmfm_radio958 today to present #BeTheArrow certificates to staff who completed our #Gaisce40 anniversary challenge.
The enthusiasm with which the nation responded is so humbling and we especially want to thank LMFM and all the local radio stations for having Avril on their morning shows last month to share the impact of the President`s Award over the past 40 years.
Edel Gallagher from @volunteer_mayo Centre shared the inspiring story of volunteers coming together to transform the grounds of St. Joseph’s District Hospital in Ballina, Co. Mayo!
Groups including Ballina Community Clean Up, Ballina Tidy Towns, Ballina Men`s Shed, and local artists collaborated on this heartfelt project, bringing colour, care, and creativity to a space that means so much to the community. 🙌
Motivated by #BeTheArrow, these incredible volunteers are being recognised for their dedication and impact. This project highlights the powerful difference volunteers can make, not just in transforming a place, but in supporting the people who depend on it. 💛

A huge congratulations to the Gaisce alumni, friends, and family who came together to complete a 5km hike for #BeTheArrow, in memory of the late Captain Cian Timmons. Their inspiring effort — Captain Cian’s Challenge — raised an incredible €1,000 for the Gaisce Bursary Fund.
Captain Cian’s legacy runs deep within the Gaisce community. From Awardee to PAL, Council Member to mentor, he gave his time, energy, and heart to supporting young people on their journeys. His impact extended far beyond Gaisce — as a proud member of @seascoutingsi and @scoutingireland, and a skilled Master Mariner with the @honourable_company_m_m, he inspired many through his leadership and service.
Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and supported this meaningful tribute. 💫

It`s been a truly incredible month witnessing so many people get involved in Be The Arrow. You’ve helped us to celebrate our 40th anniversary while pursuing personal development and fundraising, which will enable more young people to start and complete their Gaisce Award.
We’re truly grateful, but also so impressed. We’ve seen all sorts of challenges, from walking the dog, juggling, learning Irish, playing an instrument, volunteering in your community, joining sports clubs, the list goes on!
The dedication and joy around this challenge embody the spirit of Gaisce. It was great to see Gaisce Alumni getting involved again, and just as special to see those who never had the chance to do Gaisce before finally getting to take part.
