Introducing the Gaisce Youth Ambassador Panel

Are you a Gaisce Participant or recent awardee who has lots of ideas about how to shape the Gaisce Award experience for others, and is interested in networking with other awardees and representing Gaisce? If so, then we would love to hear from you! 

Gaisce – The President’s Award wants young people from all over Ireland to join our new Youth Ambassador Panel. The panel will bring together a group of young people who are undertaking their Gaisce Award, or who have recently completed their Award, and are interested in being an advocate for Gaisce and accessing exclusive training and learning opportunities and network with fellow Award participants. 

What will the Gaisce Youth Ambassador Panel do? 

Members of the Gaisce Youth Ambassador Panel will have the opportunity to: 

• Act as an advocate and ambassador for Gaisce amongst your peers and the wider youth audience; 
• Actively engage with the Gaisce team to share your insights on the Gaisce Award programme that will help to shape the Gaisce Award experience in the future; 
• Benefit from training sessions and learning opportunities that will enhance your Gaisce Award experience, develop your leadership skills and boost your CV.  Themes explored during the programme will include SDGs, media training and inclusion & diversity, along with presentations from a range of guest speakers at our monthly get-togethers; 
• Attend exclusive Gaisce events; 
• Network with fellow Gaisce participants.

What do you have to do? 

• The first Gaisce Youth Ambassador Panel will run from October 2024 until December 2025, and all panel members will be involved for that time. 
• There will be monthly meetings; most of these will take place online.  There will be 2-3 in-person meetings that will take place at Gaisce’s HQ in Ratra House, Phoenix Park, Dublin.  All panel members must commit to being available to attend all monthly meetings. 
• You must be a current Gaisce Award participant or a recent Awardee.
• You must be aged between 18 and 25. 
• Each member of the panel will commit to undertaking at least two public speaking opportunities representing Gaisce during their time as Youth Ambassadors.  These opportunities can be in your own locale or can take place on a wider regional or national level. 
• Panel members will actively promote their involvement with the Youth Ambassador group on their social media channels. 
• Panel members will agree to taking part and being featured in Gaisce promotional materials and campaigns, such as social media video content and website profiles. 
• Gaisce will refund public travel expenses for any in-person meetings. 

Our first meeting and induction session will take place in person in Gaisce, Ratra House, Phoenix Park on Saturday 12th October 2024.  To be part of the Youth Ambassador Panel, you must be available to attend this meeting.
