The Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) National Day takes place at the Aviva stadium on the 16th of April. The IYMA’s are Ireland’s only all Ireland Youth Music festival with acts performing from all over Ireland.

In recognition of the great fit between the Irish Youth Music Awards and Gaisce – The President’s Award, Irish Youth Music Awards aka IYMAs recently became an official ‘Challenge Partner’ of Gaisce.

Young people taking part in the Irish Youth Music Awards can now use their involvement in the IYMAs to count towards the ‘Personal Skill’ area of Gaisce – The President’s Award.

To date over 85,000 young people across the entire island of Ireland have taken part and benefited from the Irish Youth Music Awards and it has grown in popularity since its inception eight years ago. Every year the programme is launched and rolled out in clubs and projects all over Ireland, and in partner organisations in Northern Ireland.

Each region holds a local live selection night and chooses an act and original song to represent the region at the National Day and to get a chance to perform in the Aviva Stadium. All the other regional performers then form a team around the representing act, and learn a range of new skills such as recording, sound engineering, marketing, social media and public relations.
